Whoever invented bronze was not trying to change the world. They wanted a tool that would not bend: copper on its own was too soft. After a good many attempts they added tin, and from there a whole age took the name of their alloy.

It almost always goes like that. Someone solves a problem and changes everyone’s life without knowing it.

That is what I find exciting about technology: it changes everyday life faster than any law does, and it asks nobody for permission.

Right now it is happening on more than one front at once. A solar panel costs 99% less than it did a generation ago, and over the same years machines learned to write and to code.

I work at the point where those two meet.
